AGE UK Gloucestershire
A short description of a completed project working with trustees and staff to refurbish headquarter offices to meet organisational requirements.
In 2009 Age UK Gloucestershire had occupied their headquarters offices in Gloucester for many years and had outgrown them. I was appointed to take on the specification for new head offices and find the best solution, working to a Property Committee made up of the charity’s chair, treasurer, one other member of the board, and the chief executive.
A review of alternative sites produced the decision that staying in the existing building and refurbishing it, taking over upstairs space previously sub-let to another charity, was the way to go forward. A staff survey and staff meeting were held to make sure no details were overlooked in the process, and to give everyone a say. A short summary of the process can be downloaded here, and pictures of the finished result can be found below:
“Andrew Maliphant worked for Age UK Gloucestershire in 2009/10. He led a major office refurbishment project for us, which he brought in within time and budget targets. We found him to have excellent project management skills and able to work with people from all parts of the organisation. I would have no hesitation in commending his services to another organisation.”
